News Flash – 30 August 2023 – Delays expected out of the UK with possible knock on effects

News Flash: The UK has seen over 500 flights cancelled and many more delayed – this due to technical issues with UK Flight control systems.

 

Summary of information we have as follows:

  1. The Flight control system failure was in response to a faulty flight plan that was submitted on Monday 28th August 2023.
  2. Over 500 flights being cancelled and many other flights severely delayed – passenger and cargo flows have been severely impacted.
  3. Airlines have warned that disruptions could last for several days. There may be knock on effects in other regions as well.
