Dear Clients & Partners,

We would like to notify you that the European Union is implementing a new customs pre-arrival security and safety program, the Import Control System 2 (ICS2). This replaces the current system in use, namely ICS1.

The Inter-Sped team / Teams at Destination have been implementing the necessary changes in adherence to the requirements of each release.

What does this mean for you? From South Africa’s side, our customers that are exporting to Europe, will need to provide additional information on their invoices, as this will assist Inter-Sped in submitting the correct information to the relevant customs authority.

The information which must be reflected on the invoice:

  • Supplier’s name
  • Supplier’s address
  • Recipient’s name (including EORI-number)*
  • Recipient’s address
  • Product description (including the 6-digit HS codes)**
  • Total number of commodities
  • Total weight of shipment

Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI number):

  • The receiver/importer has to inform the supplier/exporter of the correct EORI number.
  • The supplier has to state the EORI number on the invoice.

Product Description:

  • What is the product?
  • What is the product made of?
  • What is the product used for?
